The term azurite comes from the Arabic term “azur” which means blue, the characteristic color of this stone. Azurite has been called the “Stone of Heaven” that aids in the “pursuit of the heavenly self”.
 
Malachite is from the Greek word monocities, which means “mallow plant. "Malachite personifies the deep healing green of nature and represents the innate beauty of flowers, trees, roots, and plants.
